Hi! I’m Trisha or Trish as most people call me…funny I always introduce myself as Trisha and I’m not sure why! My family and I have lived in Apex since April 2013. We LOVE IT HERE and I’m sure that will come across in most of my posts:) I have been married almost 14 years to my husband Brian and we have three girls. Mallory 11, Gwyneth or Gwyn 8, and Harper 4. I thought I was SO SMART having them 3-4 years apart and now that’s one of the most challenging things I find about parenting them. We have alot of different stages of life going on right now. Navigating one through middle school and trying to get one out of her pull-up at night all the same time (you see I have nothing to say about the middle kid which is about how we roll, poor thing). So, needless to say I need an outlet and luckily that has been fitness for most of my life. I did my first aerobics class when I was a freshman in high school! My mom was trying to get in shape after quitting smoking and I *may* have been a willing companion. We actually fell in love with it…we are talking OLD SCHOOL aerobics to I heard it Through the Grapevine, and grapevine we did for about 40 minutes of the hour. This led to me start teaching group exercise classes when I was in college. I also majored in Dietetics at Virginia Tech…GO HOKIES! Fun fact: my husband went to UVA, but this is not really a problem since Tech has won every football game but ONE since we met:) So, my group exercise life ended a few years after college while I did pharmaceutical sales, but I was really not very good at it. I loved the flexibility of the job, but I’m just not super assertive. Fast forward to after my second kid and I fell into teaching again. I also developed a new love for running, which later led to triathlons! However, I don’t label myself as any of those…I really enjoy and do so many different things. I love just lifting weights, I LOVE yoga, and I’ve even dabbled in crossfit which I enjoyed. So, I won’t ever say I’m an expert in any one fitness area, but I love trying new things and as I get older my goals and what works for my body is ever evolving. Hope you join me and these amazing women as we try to navigate this mom/wife/woman thing and explore out amazing town and area together!!
