We are back with our second edition of Peaks of the Week. This is a fun post that rounds up some of our favorite things from around the Internets from this past week.
Statement SNEAKERS and flares. Don’t mind if I do! What is your favorite fall fashion rule??
Are you looking for a BIG RACE to do next year and a beach vacation? You can do both October 2016 in Hilton Head
These baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings from Steamy Kitchen are amazing! Becki made them last weekend and they rank right up there with Buffalo Style (and Becki is from Buffalo so there you have it!) Picture is from Steamy Kitchen.
This Cheater Pho from Damn Delicious is a great weeknight meal option! If you have some leftover rotisserie chicken it would be even quicker!
Rainy days may make you want to stay in and bake…but it has been raining for awhile now here in the Raleigh area and you also may be experiencing a bit of cabin fever! If you are looking to escape the confines of your home for a bit, check out the award winning Irregardless Cafe! This local eatery was the first vegetarian restaurant in Raleigh. Delicious then and delicious now, it was recently voted one of the best vegetarian restaurants by OpenTable. This farm to table restaurant uses locally grown produce, including foods from it’s own garden, which is just three miles from the cafe. In addition to vegetarian, you will find meat, poultry, seafood, and gluten free options on the menu as well. Not hungry, Irregradless has a full bar and highlights local musicians throughout the week! So, if you are in the mood for food, looking to quench your thirst, or really just want to relax and listen to some live music head to Irregardless Cafe & Catering. Experience why five million voters rated it one of the 52 best vegetarian restaurants in America! (And yes, you did read correctly, the restaurant caters so you may not even have to venture out into the rain.)
One more thing about Irregardless Cafe and Catering. The cafe uses it’s garden, The Well Fed Community Garden, to connect with the local community. It donates 20% it’s produce to the area and offers volunteer opportunities and workshops to those interested in learning more about growing their own food. Considering how my garden turned out this year, or didn’t, I think I will see what I can learn from these pros! – Marianne
OpenTable is a pretty cool website, so we thought we would include it in the Peaks of the Week too! Basically, you can make dining reservations for you and your party online – for anytime and anywhere in the world. Next time you are heading out for a meal, you may want to go to this website first!
Not for the faint of heart…..this article in Buzzfeed explains why you should see Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk in theaters (or don’t see it at all.) The .gif in the article is enough to make our stomach queasy – yikes!!
Check out Sean Hayes and hubby Scott Icenogle in their brand new Lip-Sync to Janet Jackson’s hit BURNITUP – we love it!! If you haven’t seen their videos yet definitely check out their other lip-synch to “Trouble” by Iggy Azalea as well.
If you enjoyed this week’s Peaks of the Week you can check out last weeks by clicking here. Enjoy!
