Hi everyone! I missed last weeks post due to two sick kids and a snow storm, but I am excited to share my son Walker’s Bowling Party with you all! My rule for birthday parties is “anywhere but our house” so when Walker asked for a bowling party I was thrilled and immediately started planning.
First up…the bowling alley. I decided on Cine Bowl & Grill in Cary because first of all its new (and by new I mean clean) and second of all we needed a place with big TV’s so we could watch the Carolina Panthers play! We had two lanes for two hours of bowling (including shoe rental) pizza, drinks and a $5 card to spend at the arcade. The service was great and set up for the party was quick and easy!
Now on to the details, this is the fun part for me. Being the control freak that I am, I miss the days where I had complete control over my kids parties. I could pick the theme, colors, food everything was just as I wanted it! 😉 This was a fun party to plan with Walker…but he is a boy, and NOT into details. So we agreed on the colors of Red and “Carolina” Blue. I found some cute bowling themed party printables on Etsy from Chickabug. She has the cutest designs and the turn around time to get your personalized printables is quick! I ordered party favor tags that said “Thanks For Rolling With Walker” and the coolest personalized water bottle labels, which I had Chickabug print and mail to me on waterproof paper, so if they got wet the ink wouldn’t run. Perfect! The cupcakes were from a local mom owned business Cakes By Jennifer Dail. I had her cupcakes at my sons end of year football party and they are amazing! Real buttercream frosting to die for! I actually hid two of them after the party for myself….shhhh! I sent Jennifer a picture of the cupcake toppers I wanted, bowling balls, bowling pins and the number 8! So cute!
The boys had a great time bowling and could be as loud as they wanted! They bowled about two games each, while some of the parents watched football on the big screen TV’s and enjoyed a beer. Then we sang Happy Birthday to my favorite 8 year old and ate cupcakes and pizza!
(Nice how he blows out his candle by spitting on it huh??)
Then it was off to the arcade for some more fun! His friends all signed a bowling pin for Walker to keep as a reminder of this fun day with his friends. As the boys left, they took home mini plastic bowling pins I found on line at Novelty Bowling Stuff filled with jelly beans (in coordinating colors of course!)
Happy 8th Birthday Walker!!
