It’s that time of year again…the holidays are coming and its time to get those guest rooms ready! I love staying in fancy hotels…okay luxury hotels if I’m telling the truth. Its all about the special amenities, beautiful crisp white bedding, fluffy towels and cozy robes. A stay in a nice hotel leaves you feeling relaxed and pampered and that’s the way you want your guests to feel! I’ve put together a few easy and inexpensive additions to your guest room that will make your guests feel loved and welcomed!
1. Make sure your guests have the WiFi password. Make your own sign in Microsoft Word and put it in a cute frame or purchase this cute one on etsy 2. Place a beautiful carafe of water on the bedside table. I love this one from Pottery Barn because the glass doubles as a lid 3. Add a beautiful candle (and matches) in a seasonal scent for your visitors to enjoy. Jo Malone are my favorite, and a little pricey at $65.00, but the Sweet Almond and Macaroon is totally worth the splurge! 4. Adding a cozy throw at the end of the bed will help your guests feel at home. This faux fur one is from Target and an inexpensive way to add a little luxury. Great for midday naps or curling up with a good book.
Be sure and wash and make up the bed a few days before your guests come. They will appreciate freshly laundered bedding. A nice bedside lamp is essential for those guests who like to read before bed, and I always like to have a small stack of magazines in the room to read at their leisure. Its a nice escape from the hectic holiday activities. A set of nice towels laid out with a fresh bar of soap and maybe a few other small toiletries (maybe from your last hotel stay) are a nice addition. Pick up some inexpensive fresh flowers at your local grocery store and display them in a simple vase to show how much you care. Fair warning…your guests might love your space so much, they might never go home! 😉 What is your favorite guest room tip? Tell us in the comments below!
